THE BLOOD STORY
NYC Airsoft - The Tantalum Contract
International tech giants P3-AR, SongSong, and MoCazz were in a bitter feud over the rights to one of the last remaining tantalum mines in Africa. The remote, but plentiful mine in Ubinda was in direct conflict. The manufacturers hired outside mercenary groups to seize and defend the mine at all costs. P3-AR hired the firm Anglo-Sino Securities, SongSong hired Global Resource Defense Enterprises, and MoCazz hired Kiev-Afrikaner Secure Holdings.
War raged on for years with the mine changing hands multiple times. Despite repeated warnings about ecological damage from scientists at Ubinda Labs, the mining, and constant hostilities left their mark. Years of drilling opened a vein of toxic heavy liquid. The Ubinda Labs scientists took four samples of the toxin and began to study the effects of prolonged exposure.
NYC Airsoft - Operation Bad Blood
Tensions in Ubinda rose, and the government wanted to try and weaponize the toxin. Ubinda Labs scientists smuggled the samples into the nearby Democratic Republic of the Congo, but were caught and executed not long after. The samples were hidden as best they could.
The Congolese government allowed three bands of mercenaries and soldiers to attempt to find the toxin samples for a very hefty bounty. Tribal elders banded together to try and stop the mercenaries from finding and weaponizing the toxin.
NYC Airsoft - Wasteland:Mayhem
It was later found that prolonged exposure to the toxin infected the blood and began to slowly mutate. Corrupt government officials were able to secure samples of the toxin and set their scientists to work on creating a method of mass deployment. A brilliant doctor, known to his colleagues as "The Master" due to his advance experience, developed a method to aerate the toxin and deliver it via ICBM. The new aerated toxin effected people much faster than expected, with frightening results. The Master, in a violent coup, seized control of all government research facilities. He began to experiment with rapid deployment and fired several ICBMs into neighboring regions.
After the detonations and infection from fallout, The Master sent in an elite unit of soldiers to sterilize the region of any traces of The Master's involvement. Survivors nicknamed these men The Cleaners. Survivors banded together and attempted to fight off The Cleaners and bring some peace back to the mayhem they were experiencing.
NYC Airsoft - Wasteland
Survivors spent years, possibly decades, trying to survive around The Master's Cleaners and the mutated shells of their former friends and loved ones. A brave group of survivors set out to find a place for everyone to live peacefully, out of the reach of The Master.
Over time, survivors discovered an abandoned network of fallout shelters and bunkers. They began to inhabit these shelters and started to rebuild their society. Cleaners that had not succumbed to radiation mutation were drafted into the newly formed Rangers to continue the search for dissidents.
Survivors alone in the Wastes began hearing rumors of the shelters and started searching for them. Many were found and were either empty or locked. Survivors began calling these locked shelters Vaults. The inhabitants of the vaults did not want to open the doors out of fear of toxins and The Master's spies.
Eventually The Master succumbed to the same fate, but not before he perfected a way to transfer his consciousness to any other living creature in the Wastes. Rumors circulated that anyone could be The Master and everyone was suspect.
Pockets of civilization started to thrive, especially around a location known by the Survivors as Bellum Town. Society had begun to rebuild itself, but the specter of The Master remained constant.
NYC Airsoft - Red Death
Labs within the vaults had been working to create antidotes to the toxin and possible cures for the mutated. At first the antidotes seemed to work and the mutation cure had desirable effects. The labs began to increase the dosage to hopefully work faster, but in higher doses proved to be painfully fatal. The victims quickly bled to death from the eyes.
A power hungry scientist in one of the labs designed a mask to protect himself from the poison and infected his entire vault. He took the remaining doses, left his vault, and began searching for more victims. Whispers quickly spread, warning all to "Beware The Red Death".
